Ricky Harris

The Celebration of Life for Mr. Ricky Harris will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023, 1:00pm, Graveside Services, St. Galilee Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Public Viewing will be on Saturday, 3:30pm - 7:00pm, Ingram Brothers Chapel.  

Ricky Harris, Sr. answered the heavenly call on June 20, 2023, at his home in Sparta, GA.  Ricky was born on June 25, 1958, to the late Lewis Harris Sr. and Alma Ruth Harris in Sparta, GA. He was preceded in death by both parents. 

He was a lifelong resident of Hancock County, where he also graduated HCHS Class of 1976.  Sometime after high school he continued his education, obtaining a certification in Welding from Sandersville Technical College. During his younger years he held a few jobs, but he enjoyed mostly being a mechanic at Mohawk Industries in Milledgeville, GA, where he was employed for several years. Ricky enjoyed doing a number of things, giving him the Jack of All stats…… He loved shooting pool, fishing with his wife, playing his few instruments, working on cars/ other odds and ends, etc.…… Also, he loved being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, siblings, family, and friends.

His memories will be cherished by his wife Scheata Harris, children, Nathaniel Hubert, Toni Warren, Ricky Harris Jr., Alishia Glover(Jason), Amontae Harris, Jessica Hall, Tequilla Hall, Reginald Harris(Jamika), & Justin Jones; sisters, Gilda Harper(Jimmie), Wanda Turner(Klint); brothers, Donald Harris(Barbara), & Lewis Harris Jr., two aunts, Stella Sams and Elma Harper, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends,  devoted friends Janice Burton and John L. Chatman who will miss him dearly.
