Mamie Blount Odum

Celebration of Life

Mamie Blount Odum was born on January 07, 1953, in Hancock County to the late Riley and Mary Blount.  On August 11, 2022 , a beautiful angel of God was called home. She is now released from all of her earthly cares and pains.

She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Hancock County Public School before moving to Philadelphia as a teenager and graduating from West Philadelphia High School in 1972 where she met and married Larry Odum. Later in adulthood they moved to Oakland California where she resided.

Mamie worked with UPS and DFACS until her health began to fail her. She loved her family and hanging out with friends, listening to music, dancing, talking, and riding.

She was preceded in death by her parents Riley and Mary Blount. Two sisters Dorthy Wynn and Susie Roach. One brother Edward Blount.

To cherish her memories, Husband Larry Odum, Philadelphia, Daughter Shayna Odum, California, Three Brothers Riley Blount Jr., Emanuel Blount, both of Sparta, Ga. and Julian Blount California, Five Grandchildren, California, One Brother In Law Alexander Roach ,Sparta, Ga. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
