God in his infinite wisdom summoned from this walk of life a precious jewel to be well remembered, Mrs. Lillie Pearl Stewart. She exchanged time for eternity ascending to her everlasting resting place on Friday, February 23, 2024. Lillie Pearl was the youngest of eight children born to the Late Amos and Hattie Tucker Evans. She was born on July 29, 1935, raised in Hancock County and received community-based education from Bethlehem School and L.S. Ingram High School. Lillie Pearl married Clarence Stewart in 1956; in this union four children were born. Clarence preceded her in death in 1988. As a sought out seamstress, she was first employed at Quality Cleaners, then Duckworth Factory and later served 46 years in the Hancock County Schools System working with P-K, Kindergarten and the county Grand Parent Program. After retirement she became an avid traveler. She enjoyed fishing, shopping, completing word search puzzles, cooking, crafting and meeting needs of others. Lillie Pearl was a member of the Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her passing. She served in the Music Ministry, the Hospitality and Decorations Committee and the Deaconess Board. In November 2023, she was honored as the Mother of the Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Cynthia Lewis of Savannah GA, Dr. Teressa Stewart of Augusta, GA, Elder Felecia Stewart and Michael Stewart of Sparta, GA, Grand Children and Great Grand Children: Chiquitta Walker (Jaden Blount and Kaitlyn Walker) of Augusta GA, Rafael Lewis Sr. (Rafael Jr., Treveon, and Lauren Lewis) of Washington, DC, Ramirez Lewis (Ramari, and Lennox Lewis) of Sparta, GA, Navy Seaman JaMonte’ Stewart (Giovanni Stewart) Virginia, MaQuantus (Christina) (China, London and Paris Stewart) Milledgeville, GA, Chekeria Choice Stewart of Mandeville, LA.
