Lawrence Eugene Young

With joyful expectation of the promise of Eternal Life, we announce the passing of Lawrence Eugene Young. Lawrence was the eldest of ten children born to the late Eugene Young, Jr and Marie Jane Young (Carter) of Frederica, Delaware. He was a devoted member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Ellendale, Delaware all his life, accepting Jesus Christ in 1970.

Lawrence was a general contractor/builder specializing in painting and roofing where he demonstrated tremendous skill, expertise, and attention to detail.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 42 years, Marilyn Young (Gibson), three brothers; Clarence (Delores), James (Virginia) and William (Stella), three sisters; Charlotte (James), Loretta and Dorothy.

He is survived by two sons; Lawrence Samuel Joel Young (Monalisa) of Jacksonville, FL and Titus Levi Young of Frederica, DE, two grandsons; Devon Young and Asher Young, three siblings; Carl, Sr. (Eleanor), Ronnie (Mary), and Gloria White along with a host of nieces (special to him were Krystal, Samanthia, Pamela and Keisha), nephews (special to him were Keith, Ralph, Anthony and Demaris), friends, and family.

A private graveside service will be held at 12pm on Friday, November 4th, 2022 at St. Paul C.M.E. Church Cemetery, 401 Pine Bloom Road, Sparta, GA 31087. The cemetery is 2.5 miles east of the church edifice. 

A memorial service will follow on November 12th, 2022 at 12pm at The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 20887 Milton Ellendale Hwy, Ellendale, DE 19941
