“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7 KJV
Kelvin Jermaine Ingram, better known as “Lil’ Kelvin”, was born on February 14, 1985, to Eddie L. Ingram, Jr., and the late Annie Mary Wingfield Ingram. He joined the Union Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, sang in the A.M.I. youth choir, and attended church with his family on a regular basis. He enjoyed attending his home church and other churches in the surrounding communities.
Kevin attended Hancock County Schools and Athens Technical College. He resided in Greensboro, Georgia under the care of the late Pastor Sidney Tripp and Pastor Lillie Tripp before living under the care of Mrs. Emma and Mr. Alvin Peaks. Then later he moved out on his own.
Personally, Kelvin was short in stature, full of life, and fun to be around. He was very outspoken and enjoyed expressing his own unique ideas to make people laugh. No one could get a word in edgewise when Kelvin was around. Kelvin also enjoyed drawing, with blue as his favorite color.
He enjoyed creating his own rap songs. He loved rap and hip/hop music as well as gospel music. His favorite gospel group was the Canton Spirituals and his favorite song by this group was “Fix It Jesus” (On my Way Home). Kelvin was the lead singer of this song in the A.M.I. Youth Choir.
With a passion for sports, especially basketball and football, Kelvin enjoyed attending basketball and football games. His favorite NFL team was the Atlanta Falcons. Through his wide range of activities in the home, church, school, and community, Kelvin, became well-known throughout the local area.
Kelvin was preceded in death by the large number of relatives he adored, including his mother, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Cherished memories of Kelvin remain in the hearts of his devoted father, Eddie L. Ingram, Jr., his brother Barry D. Wingfield, sister Jada M. (Vernon) Ingram, nieces Ambria K.(Jalisa)Wingfield and Ava M. Johnson, and Uncles Earnest (Charlene) Ingram and Edward Wingfield, Jr. Aunts include Evelyn Dorsey, Bernestine Ingram, Christine Culver, Gladys (Sherman) Roper, and Ruthie Duggan, a great aunt Kathleen Wingfield, and a host of cousins and friends.
