Donnie Spencer

Mr. Donnie Malone Spencer of Sparta, GA, transitioned to his final rest on Friday, February 16, 2024. The Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2023, @ 2:00pm, Ingram Brothers Chapel, 249 Spring St, Sparta, GA.  

Donnie Malone Spencer was born to the parentage of Rev. Charlie Spencer and Lillie Bell Brookins Spencer on January 6, 1962, in Sparta, Hancock County, Georgia and was the youngest of 12 siblings. Donnie accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Sparta, Georgia under the leadership of the late Rev. Willie Wylie, Sr.

He attended Hancock Central High School and served two years in the Job Corps. He enjoyed fishing, listening to rap music, playing pool and reading about Black History. His favorite NFL team was the Atlanta Falcons (“Dirty Birds”). He was a bachelor and had no children.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Charlie Spencer (father)-Mrs. Lillie Bell Brookins Spencer (Mother), three siblings-Marilyn Virginia Spencer, Willie Roy Brookins and Sammy Lee Spencer.

Leaving to cherish his memory are four sisters: Ola Tutt, Macon, Georgia; Lena Spencer, Atlanta, Georgia; Bobbie Jean Pinkston, Augusta, Georgia and Judy Spencer, Lawrenceville, Georgia; four brothers: Freddie Spencer-Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jimmy Spencer (Janet Spencer)-Columbus, Georgia; Clifford Spencer, Sparta, Georgia; and Curtis Spencer, Sandersville, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
